UPS - its a controversial topic for some! But if we want to be active as a town we must have a fair means to divy up the loot. UPS does not mean Universal Parcel Service, although the postal mail imps might debate it it stands for "Universal Points System". For the new blood: basically you go on runs to get UPS points, and use those points to pick gear from the runs. If the run sucked, well at least you have points to spend when something you need/like is available later. Can only stay for d1 Ely and you need something from d2? No problem with ups! And if something epic is popped, we have a fair system that allows whoever has the most unpicked points to spend on the rare item. Its a great incentive for more people who like zones to go on more runs, and to do zones they wouldn't normally need eq but still have an incentive. As well as more gear will be popped more frequently so as a town we will have more access to more opportunities to pop better freak tweaks and above base gear. Everyone wins because we are more active and have better sets to pick from, and have more fun in the process (hopefully!). Theoretically of course, as we aren't in a perfect world flaws can come up. As long as we respect each other and our UPS it can be a smooth easy way to get things done.
We had a good ups system code before. But I don't know code or setup, and this is a free forum site we can use that should be stable for our needs. Also I like the idea of having a forum to post Hero AQ's, Zone WT's, tips, tricks, and any other interesting medievia topics we may choose to converse about in a more relaxed pace than while embarking upon Medieval Adventure.
What we do next is up to you guys. I vote lets do it. We'll iron out the details as we go, gotta start somewhere.
